**Reminder: we are back to ONE SERMON at 10AM, but during renovations, we will meet at CAMP ARROWHEAD, 275 Kenyon Rd, Suffolk, VA (at the YMCA Campground.)**
When it comes it trusting God, sometimes it's easier to trust Him with SPECIFIC THINGS and hold back when applying trust to God's PROMISES and GOODNESS.
If we're honest, sometimes (or often) God's goodness just seems too good to be true to really trust Him to do as He says, that He will show up for us as He claims, that He really does love us, forgive us, and that all our life experiences--ALL of them--really are for our good.
We know God is good. He's told us so, and we've studied it, and we've experienced it in life and the lives of those we love. And yet.
Yet.
If we are honest, trusting God with EVERYTHING is not easy. And simply saying it's "hard," seems...lacking.
Join us for this upcoming series about Trusting God, REALLY trusting Him, what that means, and what it looks like. Your Father yearns to for you to come to Him and trust that He loves you and is there for you.
Here are just a FEW verses about trust in the Lord.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5
What time I am afraid, I will trust in you.
Psalms 56:3-4
It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in humans.
Psalm 118:8
Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.
Proverbs 16:20
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.
Isaiah 43:2
In my anguish I cried to the Lord, and he answered by setting me free. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Psalm 118:5-6
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
